Saturday Of Service – Parent Education Seminar March 2011

For the second year the club hosted its Parent Education Seminar on March 19th, 2011. Positive feedback and a demand for the continuation of the programme prompted co-ordinator Marion Dass, member and educator to formulate a follow-up programme.

World Water Day - again a HIGHLIGHT at the Annual Golf Tournament

In observance of this day, an annual appeal was made at the Club’s Golf Tournament held on Sunday 3rd April 2011, for donations to purchase water tanks to be donated to a deserving family.

Celebrating International Day Of Peace

The club continues to acknowledge the International Day of Peace in September with events that symbolise peace in different countries such as a PEACE POLE (erected at the Promennade in San Fernando), a dove, pinwheels and so on. This is an event where school children from the San Fernando area are involved in the project assisted by members of NALIS.

Saturday Of Service

This was held on Saturday 15th March, 2008, at the Shangri La Home for the Aged, Gopaul Lands, Marabella. It was hosted for the caregivers who work at the Home and was held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch.

World Aids Day

On Friday 18th April, 2008, three AIDS patients and their families from California, Ste. Madeleine and La Brea, were each presented with hampers of foodstuff and a cash donation. They were all very grateful and appreciative of the gesture made by the Club. The presentations were made by Aruna Harbaran, Phyllis Gonsalves and Hazel Hassanali.

Which one are you in? Good Relationships are blessings, and Bad Relationships are destructive. Many signs of bad relationships go un-noticed or are accepted due to peer pressure. THINK is a bookmark for tweens, teenagers, and young adults to help them identify and practice good relationship habits and also to be aware of the signs of a bad relationship and seeks help. SI SAN Fernando is committed to stemming the signs of domestic violence.
